Thursday August 1st: Inside Blue Mountains Tour

(Feel free to post comments at the bottom of the page. But please do not spam.)

Today was a day without playing Ingress much. So a day without doing any banners. The only thing I did along the way was hacking a few portals and when possible capturing some portals. A lot have been missed because of bad GPS or bad connection problems, but that's ok. Today was an adventure in the Blue Mountains.

This post probably be a little longer.

Start: Pick up at my hotel at 06:50.
After picking up some other people at other hotels we went our way towards the Blue Mountains. So we were a group of 12. Can't remember the names or where they all came from, but if I'm not mistaken: Germany, USA, (Wales?) & Belgium (=me). (if they read this, they may comment if they want to get mentioned in this post and/or where they are from.)

Our first stop was at the Calmsley Hill City Farm.
Koala's mainly eat eucalyptus leaves, and they don't drink water. They only drink water when they don't get enough out of the eucalyptus leaves. You normally only see them on the ground when they are moving from 1 tree to another tree.
Koala's feel really soft.

Here you have a wombat. Did you know that wombats have a backward facing pouch, so when they dig, the dirt doesn't go in their pouch. They are marsupials & their babies are called joeys. Wombat gestation is 20-30 days.

And here is a joey kangaroo also feeling soft:

After this we went to Licoln's Rock, very beautiful scenery:

(a small video will come later here)

With a little bit reluctance I'm posting these 2 images.
(If you can't handle it seeing these, than it is NOT my problem. This is me on MY vacation.)

Next stop was to see the rockformation called "The Three Sisters"

Same here like with the previous 2 pictures:
(If you can't handle it seeing these, than it is NOT my problem. This is me on MY vacation.)

Next was a 3km hike for me, and eventually just before we went to the starting point of the hike, I was joined by 2 others of  our group.
The hike was great. We had very great weather. It was like 12-14°C but sure fell warmer, especially in the sun. So here are some pictures from the hike:

Here at the Barrow Lookout of the Cliff Top Track
 We have the following scenery:
(to the right)
 (to the middle)
 (to the left)
(and when looking even more to the left you can see the waterfall)

After a small picknick break we went on our way towards the end...
And for that there were a lot of steps...
Here we already took some steps for 5 min:
And these we still had to take:
And guess what... After those, there were even more steps:

Eventually we made it to the top where our tourbus was waiting with a glass of champagne and orange juice for who doesn't drink alcohol:

And here is a picture of me with my 2 hicking companions that didn't stay around the restaurant the other members were eating at.

After this we went to the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden (only going to post 4 pictures because this post is already very long...):

After this we went back to our hotels.
I arrived back at my hotel around 17:00

(on a sidenote: It took me from 17:45 until 19:35 to write this post.)
If  you want you can post a comment below, but please do not post spam.
