Sat Aug 17th: First day (part1) to Kangaroo Island

So the blog about Kangaroo Island I'll be splitting it up in multiple posts due to the many pictures.

This is part 1 of day 1 at Kangaroo Island!

So to start this adventure I had to wake up early.
Here is a picture at 05:53 from when I was walking to the place where I would get picked up.

So on this Kangaroo Island Wild Adventure trip we were with 8 persons + our cool (with sometimes good bad jokes) guide Craig. Normally we would have been with 9 persons, but number 9 didn't show up.
So in our bus we were with 4 Frenchies, 3 Dutchies and 1 Belgian (me). So to make it even (& easier), our cool guide Craig calculated me with the Dutchies, so it is 4 Frenchies and 4 Dutchies.
So we went on our way to catch our ferry to Kangaroo Island. But before we got there we stopped in Yankalilla which would be the place to get some breakfast food and a few other snacks and drinks because this was the last stop with a "big" shop. Here 3 pictures of a war memorial there.

Here we stopped for a minute or 2 so we could take some pictures

Under the clouds across the water you can see Kangaroo Island.

Here are a few pictures from on the ferry. Even though it was like only 12-13  °C, it fell warmer on top outside. Here 3 pictures from on the ferry, sadly I didn't saw any dolphins or others passing by.

Once we were on Kangaroo Island we had to load the gear up in the trailer of our tourbus.

Then our first stop was Prospect Hill. To get to the top for the beautiful scenerie we had to first climb a few stairs steps... I lost my count a few times. But according to this website the stairs has 500 steps. I personaly think it is more. But anyway, doesn't really matter.
Here some pictures

On this picture you can see the narrowest point of the Island which is only +- 2km

Here a selfie of me at the top of Prospect Hill.
(can you call it a selfie if someone else is taking the picture for you?)

Next stop was Cliffords Honey Farm.

They have a bee hive in glass so you can see them. Via a little tunnel they (the bees) can get in and out of this.

The bee with the red dot is the queen bee. Can you spot her in this picture?
At Cliffords Honey Farm you can buy icecream with honey flavour, which is actually a good icecream. The flavour is subtle.

Next was Bales Beach, sadly we didn't saw any seals there, but it had some nice waves though.

This is the end of part 1 of Day 1.
Part 2 of Day 1 is the next blogpost.
