Sat Aug 17th: First day (part2) to Kangaroo Island

This is part 2 of day 1 at Kangaroo Island!

Next stop was Seal Bay.
Here it is a sactuary for seals, the rangers only observe them and do not interfere with them. Only in very rare cases they do. We had to stay 10 meters away from the seals or as close to that the 10 meter when the seal was laying too close. The different guided groups stopped when a seal was close by and one group at a time in a single line could go pass the seal. The seals we saw here are seals with hair, so they feel the cold. When they are laying next to eachother it is to stay warm.

Here is one just coming out of the sea.

This one was just moving because he/she was just doing his/her

After this it was time for some action.
SANDBOARDING!
I have video's of me sandboarding but no pictures. I do have 3 pictures of others of our group (but non of the actually sandboarding action).
Maybe when i'm back home I'll see if I can take some screenshots of the video's.

Vivonne Bay Jetty

After that we went on our way to Flinders Chase Farm where we ate our self prepared food, went looking in the dark for some kangaroos, koala's & possums, after that we each told a little bit about ourselfs and after that is was a good time to go to bed.

We spotted a few kangaroos with little Joeys in there mothers pouch.

Here a koala

And here a possum

And that is the end of part 2 of the first day at Kangaroo Island.
